In Little Boots, we prioritise play-based learning and a child-centred approach, recognising each child as a capable learner who drives their own discovery. We cultivate strong relationships between educators, children, and families, respecting and incorporating individual cultural backgrounds into our daily learning experiences.

We place a strong emphasis on emotional well-being and resilience, creating safe spaces where children can confidently express themselves and develop healthy coping skills. Play is central to our learning philosophy, fostering social, cognitive, and emotional growth, as well as creativity and independence.

Our philosophy supports holistic development, nurturing all facets of a child’s growth - intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual. Moments of care are viewed as opportunities to build trust and connection, while our commitment to inclusion ensures that every tamaiti, regardless of their background or abilities, has the chance to thrive.

We celebrate diversity and foster a sense of belonging for all. Guided by the RIE method (Resources for infant Educarers) and best practice, we treat all children with dignity and respect, encouraging autonomy within a nurturing environment.

By incorporating te ao Māori, tikanga Maori, and te reo Māori, we help instil cultural competence and respect for tangata whenua and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Guided by Te Whāriki, New Zealand’s early childhood curriculum, we promote holistic, culturally responsive learning that is rooted in strong partnerships with families and communities.
