Annaliese, with your warm hugs and bright smile, you helped E return to Gumboots after the devastation of Cyclone Gabriel. Thank you for understanding him and giving him a safe spot between your arms when he needed it the most. We will always be grateful for that. Little Boots - thank you all for being so wonderful with my wee man! Your kindness and patience does not go unnoticed! As parents it's hard to trust people with your children and we feel so lucky our boys are at Gumboots with such amazing teachers. Thank you. Big Boots - than you for the fabulous teachers in this room. You are all so kind and caring. Helen and Annaliese, thank you for always being so consistent, patient and kind to my C boy. Your special care you give my boys is appreciated. We are so grateful for you and feel very comfortable leaving our kids in your care.

Seeing how excited and happy A is when we drop her off each morning shows us how much care and support you give her every day. Diane, I love how A lights up when she sees you, we are very lucky to have you as her teacher. To our Gumboots family, Thank you all so much for making our kids a home away from home. I have had a few rough mornings with both kids losing it in the foyer and you guys are like these guardian angels running out to help. It is appreciated so much. You make our kids' days and ours so special from the amazing events like 'Snow Day, to making special gifts from the kids for mothers/fathers day, it means so much to us. Gumboots gave our girls the best start. The teachers are so nurturing and caring. Our girls learned so much! It speaks volumes when our now 5 year-olds want to go back and visit their wonderful teachers every school holiday. Thank you Gumboots, you're amazing!

Dear Gumboots, thanks so much for taking such wonderful care of J over the past 4 years. We couldn;t have asked for a better environment for him to grow, learn and explore in. We really appreciate all the care and love you have shared with him. We will all miss having Gumboots in our lives, but will see you again in eight months when JG starts! To the wonderful Gumboots family I don't think there are enough words to describe how totally grateful we are that E spent her first years with all of you. Gumboots has been a part of E's life since she was eight months old, from early days in Baby Boots (Booties) with Amy, to scary first days in Little Boots with Liz where they held our hand as she took her first steps and said her first few words. Junior Boots with Annaliese, Liz and the team where we saw her gain in confidence and really start becoming her own person. And finally Big Boots, the class that felt too big, where Helen, and her team helped get her read for the big wide world and... school! From the bottom of our hearts - thank you! Our beautiful little girl is the person she is today because of the parts you all played; helping her and guiding her. You have set a very high standard for what have come to expect from teachers and I'm niot sure anyone will come close. THANK YOU! All our love, S & J & E.

They have had such an absolute blast during their time here. We honestly could not have asked for a better place for them to be in. As we enter a new chapter in our lives, sadly they are unable to remain in Gumboots (as we're moving away from Auckland). Hope you and the Gumboots team are doing well. We miss you guys lots and over the lockdown A started talking about how he wanted to go to Junior boots. He talked about how much he missed his teachers. Didn't mention a single friend just his fave teachers :) Also just some positive feedback for you guys now that we've moved out of the area. I am still receiving your Educa updates and all through lockdown I shared some of the story times with A and we also did some of the activities. There were too many to keep up with but it was really special that you guys did that during that time. A's new centre did basically nothing, and your proactive constant communication about the controls in place for the virus was so great I'm sure every parent felt informed and relieved that they were sending their kids to Gumboots where it was safe. Hi Lucy, I have a couple of honourable mentions for teacher’s appreciation. Firstly, thank you for the amazing job the team has done to keep this centre thriving, even during some pretty unprecedented times. Hannah (LBs): Hannah you are such a special person to our B (and to us), always smiling and warm, it’s no wonder your lap and arms are never empty. You have built such a lovely connection with our kids which is a testament to your unique and precious gift with children. Amanda (LBs): Amanda, B has made a close friend in you and is always so happy to see you in the morning and give you a cuddle. I often hear her telling me stories about “Manda” and I love the way you speak to the children like you are talking to a friend. MJ: I’m glad B’s finally talking to you now that you have moved rooms! She speaks a lot about you and I love sneaking in at pick up to watch how enthralled the children are with your mat times. B and now S are so lucky to have you. Abby: You are so suited to your new role in LBs. B has quickly warmed to you which is a testament to your calm and happy nature. Thank you for helping us unpry our hooks to help us navigate our move from the room that’s always the hardest to leave. Helen (BB): Thank you for being the right mix of firm but fair with S as he navigates the before school years. He is always very excited to be able to show you something which shows how much he trusts and values your input. Annaliese: Every morning you are there I know S will be partaking in something new and fun. Nothings too much trouble to set up and we love how patient and up for anything you are with the children. Liz: Known affectionately to the wider C family as Lovely Liz, you embody everything I want my kids to have access to in a teacher - kind, fun, encouraging, patient, nurturing. We feel so privileged to have had you be part of S’s village and have no doubt of this being a significant contribution to his wellbeing. Diane: Diane what a wonderful start you give our little people in Booties. You keep a smile at all times and somehow keep track of all the details to share with us which is so important at that age. You are so much fun and are a lovely familiar face at Gumboots. Anita: We love that you are leading our junior boots in some of the trickier little years. Thanks for bringing your skill and expertise to make the play environment the very best for what will soon be B’s new home at Gumboots. Charlotte: We are very excited for B to be able to call you her teacher. You are fun, upbeat and have so much time and patience for those lucky enough to be in your care. There are so many more wonderful teachers who we don’t always interact with as much but we hear your names at home and know you bring something unique and special to our village helping us raise our children. It is hard to summarise how much we appreciate all the incredible teachers at gumboots. Our eldest has been through all the rooms at gumboots from Booties through to Big Boots, and in every room he and us as parents have been treated as family by all of the teachers. And now we are lucky enough to have our second child make his journey through gumboots. We are always welcomed and included in our children’s day to day activities and it’s clear to see how much love and effort all the teachers put into their roles. Our children are so lucky to have such amazing role models and we as parents feel very, very lucky to have such a special place for our tamariki to spend their days before school. Thank you to all the gumboots teachers for helping our tamariki grow into the best versions of themselves with all your love and support. H said that all of his teachers are his friends at gumboots. He really enjoys it when teachers read him books and he always loved all of the amazing science experiments. He likes to hang out with Liz because she likes all the cool stuff that he likes. H is always telling us about his big chats he has with teachers. He really enjoys Helen’s mat times and said that Annaliese helps him to try new things. A special thank you to Annaliese for her care, support, love and patience that she has shown H throughout his time in big boots. We really appreciate her attention to detail and how understanding and in tune she is with him. He has grown so much while in big boots and we can see Annaliese’ commitment to H’s goals has been so positive for him and us. We are very thankful that H has such an awesome teacher watching out for him. And another special thank you to Abby. Although Abby hasn’t been at gumboots for long, it feels like she is already part of the Gumboots family. L took to Abby so quickly with her warm and caring nature , which makes drop offs a breeze when we see him so happy to go to Abby for cuddles. We also really appreciate the thoughtful stories about L that Abby has posted on Educa. We know our boys are in such great hands so thank you. Hannah and MJ, your smiles and bubbly nature is so welcoming and lovely to see every morning at drop off. Thank you for keeping our babies so happy! And thank you Lucy for your amazing work keeping the whole Gumboots team running. You do an incredible job and we really appreciate your awesome communication.
