Gumboots in the Community
Gumboots sees itself as an integral part of the vibrant local communities it serves. We prioritise reciprocal relationships with our Gumboots whānau/families, choosing to ‘buy local’ wherever possible.
Our strong partnership with Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara enables us to deepen our understanding of Te Ao Māori, tikanga, and Te Reo Māori. Their guidance has been invaluable in enhancing our knowledge of our Māori heritage and its rich offerings.
As a founding member of the Kahui Ako o Kaipara (Kaipara Community of Learning), we forge strong, healthy relationships with local primary schools, ensuring smooth transitions for children as they prepare for school.
Local librarians visit us regularly, bringing exciting, new books and reading to the children - a popular event al around!
Moreover, our collaboration with organisations like the Lions Club of Helensville, Christmas parade organisers, market organisers, NZ Fire Service, NZ Police and the Helensville Show creates opportunities for children to explore art, music, and community engagement through local events.
These connections with families, local organisations, and businesses enrich our learning experiences, empower parents, and help create a supportive environment where children can thrive.
